Bank of Japan - Bank Lending Survey (January 2011)

Demand for loans from firms during the three months to 12 January has remained about the same or weaker, the Bank of Japan's opinion survey on bank lending practices, released on Friday, states.

The report, which is based on opinion surveys on bank lending practices with senior loan officers at 50 of Japan's largest domestic banks, said 84% of respondents thought the demand for loans from firms had been about the same, with 10% of respondents reporting moderately weaker demand.
