Regulators still searching for best approach to fintech

OCC chief says experience of other regulators is shaping US approach

Regulators worldwide are still scrambling to adapt to the growth of fintech firms, with a wide range of approaches springing up but little degree of consensus so far.

Thomas Curry, chief of the US's Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), which oversees the country's banking sector, told a conference in London today (November 3) that the US is in the process of fleshing out its approach to fintech regulation.

At the event, co-hosted by Chatham House and Reuters, Curry said the OCC was
