Mozambique replaces governor Gove with IMF official
IMF economist to take over role with immediate effect
Ernesto Gove, the governor of the Bank of Mozambique, has been replaced after 10 years in the post, as the Mozambican economy continues a downward slide.
President Filipe Nyusi has appointed the International Monetary Fund's Rogerio Zandamela as the new governor, a statement from the government revealed on August 31.
Gove joined the central bank in 1976 and held various positions in the foreign department, currency issuing and treasury department, and the centre of documentation.
