Bank Indonesia launches training and research institute

Bank Indonesia (BI) has opened a new training and research centre, which it hopes will improve expertise within its ranks and foster collaboration with other central banks.

The BI Institute, which opened earlier this month, is designed to help BI become a more "proactive" central bank in dealing with rapid changes in the domestic and global economy. BI said it aimed to become the "most credible and best" central bank in the region and a "renowned study and research centre".
