Ukrainian central bank complains of failure to prosecute banking offences
Deputy governor says bank wants “full and unbiased investigation” into banking crime
Ukrainians have observed "numerous violations of the banking laws and regulations", deputy governor Kateryna Rozhkova said in an official statement, released on August 29. But "no high-profile court ruling regarding these offences" has been handed down.
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) wanted "a full and unbiased investigation into criminal offences committed in the banking sector", Rozhkova said, adding the central bank was "prepared to co-operate with the law-enforcement authorities".
