Swiss regulator forms resolution division

Regulator hopes to focus its efforts by uniting disparate teams in a new division

Swiss financial regulator Finma underscored its commitment to effective resolution today (June 10), as it established a division dedicated to the task.

The new division will be responsible for working with banks to draw up resolution plans, as well as handling the process of resolution or liquidation of institutions that fail.

Resolution is a "core task" for the authority, Finma chief executive Mark Branson said in a statement. "The creation of the resolution division means this is now reflected
