People: Fed appoints new director; Ghana and Uzbekistan add deputies

Matthew Eichner has been chosen to head the Fed's reserve bank operations and payment systems division

US: Matthew Eichner has been appointed director of the US Federal Reserve's division of reserve bank operations and payment systems. He will take up his new role on May 1.

He has served as the division's deputy director since January 2015. Louise Roseman, the current director, will serve as a senior adviser at the Federal Reserve until her retirement later this year.

Janet Yellen, chair of the Federal Reserve Board, said Eichner's "depth of knowledge and range of professional experience" made
