Swiss RTGS update goes live

Design has been made more flexible, incorporating ISO 20022 messaging standard

Six Interbank Clearing is based in Zurich

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) hailed the successful launch of the country's new real-time gross settlement (RTGS) system today (April 18).

The Swiss Interbank Clearing (SIC) system went live on April 14, after years of development by operator Six Interbank Clearing. In a statement, Six said the system, the first version of which launched in 1987, had been "completely redeveloped".
