Central Bank of Kenya creates lending facility in wake of banking troubles
The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has established a new liquidity facility to assuage concerns over the solvency of the country's banking sector, after a third bank went into receivership on April 7.
As of today (April 11), the central bank will offer emergency liquidity to any commercial or microfinance bank "that comes under liquidity pressures arising from no fault of its own", it said in a statement.
