Villeroy de Galhau calls for eurozone finance minister
The eurozone should have a single finance minister to co-ordinate economic policy, the governor of the Banque de France said today (March 22).
Monetary policy “cannot be a substitute for economic policy co-ordination or the lack of reforms”, François Villeroy de Galhau argued. Eurozone nations risked “overburdening” monetary policy, with serious risks to financial stability, he added.
