Lagarde only candidate for IMF top job
Selection process to be completed ‘as soon as possible’
Christine Lagarde looks set to serve a second term as head of the International Monetary Fund, after she emerged as the only nominee for the post today (February 11).
Her name was put forward by George Osborne, the UK's finance minister and an IMF governor, immediately after the nomination period opened on January 21. It closed at midnight on February 10.
