Ukraine's central bank is informally following an inflation-targeting strategy that could be included in its official mandate later this year, governor Valeria Gontareva said on February 3.

Gontareva also outlined what she called "ambitious" goals for the next stages of the "banking sector cleanup", in her appearance before the finance committee of Ukraine's parliament.

Ukraine now has "the basis for the introduction of inflation targeting", Gontareva said. In August 2015, the National Bank of
