Italian banking episode shows supervision working well, Nouy says

The emergence of problems with four regional banks in Italy reflects positively on the supervisory set-up in Europe, Danièle Nouy said today (February 5). The identification and subsequent removal of distressed assets in shows European supervisors are effective in scrutinising of banks, she said.
