Venner’s successor: Grenada official named first new Eastern Caribbean governor since 1989
Timothy Antoine will take office as Eastern Caribbean Central Bank governor next month
Timothy Antoine was named governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) on January 8, almost two months after K. Dwight Venner retired from the role he held for 26 years.
Antoine, former secretary to the ministry of finance in Grenada, will take office from February 1, 2016. He is no stranger to the central bank, having served on its board since 2003.
He will follow in the footsteps of Venner, the longest serving central bank governor at the time of his departure, who retired in November
