Eurogroup calls emergency conference as Greece turns to ESM for help
Greece asks for two-year bailout from European Stability Mechanism
The Eurogroup is to convene again this evening (June 30) as Greek prime minister Alexis Tsipras turned to the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) as another potential source of bailout funds.
In a last-minute bid to raise cash, Tsipras today submitted a joint request to the ESM and Eurogroup president Jeroen Dijsselbloem, asking for a two-year loan from the eurozone's emergency funding pool.
A copy of the letter, published by news service Politico, shows the Greek government asking for a loan
