Mario Draghi urges reform to ‘unleash’ eurozone potential

ECB president highlights importance of credibility and type of structural reforms

If structural reforms are to "unleash" the potential for growth in the eurozone, it is crucial they are implemented in the right way, European Central Bank (ECB) president Mario Draghi said today (May 22).

Structural reforms are a popular topic of discussion for ECB officials. Draghi, speaking at the ECB Forum in Sintra, Portugal, said the term is mentioned in roughly a third of all speeches delivered by executive board members.
