Angolan central bank rejects public designs for new coins
Central bank received 70 design proposals
Angola's central bank has rejected around 70 proposals from members of the public for the design of its new 50 and 100 kwanza coins, and will now come up with its own ideas.
The competition, launched in January, was judged by the central bank alongside representatives from the National Union of Artists and the Angolan ministry of culture.
They concluded that none of the designs submitted met their requirements, with a central bank spokesperson stressing they were "not related to the theme".
