Central Bank of Paraguay pushes for changes in national legislation

The Central Bank of Paraguay is pushing for changes to the legislation underpinning the institution in an effort to move to a new system of risk-based banking supervision.

The central bank published two draft proposals on Friday which, if adopted, would give the central bank the power to "change the prudential regulations according to market needs, without changing the legislation".
