Basel Committee adds final plank to Basel III

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision today unveiled the final version of the net stable funding ratio (NSFR), putting into place the last outstanding element of the Basel III accord.

Stefan Ingves, the chairman of the Basel Committee, hailed the achievement. "In finalising the standard, the committee has essentially completed its regulatory reform agenda, undertaken to promote a more resilient banking sector following the financial crisis," he said.

The NSFR is the longer-term of Basel III
