New deputies take office at Greek and Kyrgyz central banks
Greece: Iannis Mourmouras was yesterday sworn in as deputy governor of the Bank of Greece, returning the board to full strength. He begins a six-year term at the central bank.
A professor of macroeconomics, Mourmouras joins the central bank having been chief economic adviser to the prime minister of Greece, and before that deputy finance minister. He holds a professorship at the University of Macedonia, and has held positions at the universities of London, Southampton and Edinburgh.
