Mobile money accounts trump number of adults in Kenya, IMF data show

Afghanistan has 2.5 commercial bank branches per 100,000 people and Kenya has more active mobile money accounts than adult citizens, according to data published from the IMF's fifth Financial Access Survey (FAS).

The FAS database includes annual data for 189 countries going back to 2004 and is the official source for the ‘Basic Set of Financial Inclusion Indicators' that was endorsed by the G-20 in 2012.
