Riksbank calls on Mervyn King for monetary policy review

Former BoE governor will review Sweden's controversial monetary policy

Mervyn King, the former governor of the Bank of England (BoE), will carry out a review of the Riksbank's monetary policy amid allegations that the Swedish central bank is failing to fulfil its key mandate.

King, who lead the BoE for 10 years before stepping down last summer, was appointed by the Swedish parliament this week to conduct an evaluation of the Riksbank's performance between 2010 and 2014.

He is joined by Marvin Goodfriend, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University and a former senior
