Carney leads central bankers in open mouth operations

Mark Carney's address at London's Mansion House last week may have been the most market moving speech by a leading central banker so far this year – but he and his colleagues at the Bank of England still lag their counterparts at the ECB in frequency of speeches delivered by three to one, research by CentralBanking.com has found.

Carney and other monetary policy committee (MPC) members at the Bank of England (BoE) have noticeably increased the number of set-piece speeches1 they deliver each year
