Central banks in Israel, UK close in on new deputies

Israel: Bank of Israel governor Karnit Flug has nominated Nadine Baudot-Trajtenberg – a deputy dean at one of Israel's top universities – as the next deputy governor of the central bank.

If her appointment is confirmed, the Bank of Israel will become the only central bank in the world where both the governor and deputy governor are women.

Some central banks that employ multiple deputies have an impressive record of female representation in their senior leadership – most notably in Aruba
