Norges Bank issues ‘secret' advice on prudential regulation

Norway's central bank has issued its first piece of advice on countercyclical capital buffers to the country's ministry of finance, which is keeping the content under wraps until reaching a final decision on whether to adopt it or not.

A spokesperson at Norges Bank said that although it wanted to make its recommendations public, the finance ministry "has decided that the advice from Norges Bank is to remain secret until they have made their final decision".
