Bank of Israel unveils details of new shekel banknotes

A series of new banknotes with 'sophisticated' security features and updated designs is due to be issued in the second half of 2013, the Bank of Israel has revealed.

The four notes will be in the current denominations of 20, 50, 100 and 200 shekels, and will include designs of Rachel the Poetess, Shaul Tchernichovsky, Leah Goldberg and Natan Alterman – four Israeli literary figures.
