Malaysia’s Zeti issues guidance to pan-Asean aspirational banks

The shift by Association of South-east Asian Nations (Asean) towards an Asean Economic Community (AEC) by 2015 will require some financial institutions in the region to adopt a more regional approach to their businesses to foster financial integration. In return they will be granted favourable market access.

To manage this process, central banks in the Asean region are now "in the final stages" of launching a framework for banking sector integration following their endorsement of the Asean
