Njuguna Ndung'u, the governor of the Central Bank of Kenya, has been reappointed for a second term in office.

Samson Burgei, a spokesperson at the central bank, said Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki on Friday confirmed Ndung'u's appointment for a second four-year term as governor, the maximum number of terms a governor can serve, taking him until March 3, 2015 at the helm of the central bank. Ndung'u, whose current term was set to expire on Thursday, was first appointed governor on March 4, 2007.
