IMF takes final step in changing SDR basket

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised the value of the special drawing right (SDR), its unit of account, against the four currencies that make up its valuation basket.

Following the changes, announced on 30 December and which came into effect on 1 January, the SDR will be worth the sum of 66 US cents, 42.3 euro cents (57 US cents), 11.1 British pence (15 US cents) and ¥12.10 (17 US cents). Previously, the unit of account was worth the sum of 63.2 US cents, 41 euro cents, 9.03 British
