The National Bank of Ukraine is set to see a change at the top following the country's recent presidential election.

Volodymyr Stelmakh, the central bank's current governor who was appointed to the post by outgoing president Viktor Yushchenko, has outstayed his term, which concluded on 16 December. Stelmakh has also exceeded the country's official retirement age of 60, and although he was kept in office to keep stability in the run-up to the election, he is likely to be replaced regardless of
