Zim’s Gono to meet Biti, Mugabe over diamond seizure

Gideon Gono, the governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, is to meet with Zimbabwe's president and finance minister after police seized a reported 29kg of diamonds from the central bank.

Gono will see President Robert Mugabe and Tendai Biti, the finance minister, in the next 72 hours, in a bid to determine the facts behind the seizure, a spokesperson for the central bank told CentralBanking.com.

Police took the diamonds last Thursday in collusion with Obert Mpofu, the minister of mines
