Fed bottom in government popularity poll
Less than one-third of the American public are pleased with the Federal Reserve's performance, placing it at the bottom of a list of nine government agencies featured in a Gallup poll.
Gallup said on Monday that just 4% of those surveyed thought the Fed was doing an excellent job, down from 10% in September 2003. Twenty-six per cent thought the Fed was doing a good job, down from 43% in 2003.
More than a third (35%) said the Fed was doing a fair job and 22% thought the central bank was
