Romania raises rates to 9.5%

The National Bank of Romania hiked rates by half a percentage point for the third straight month as inflation hit 8%.

The central bank has hiked rates by 250 basis points since October and looks likey further tighten policy, saying on Wednesday 26 March that it was "standing ready to adjust its instrument settings to counteract inflationary pressures."
