Balcerowicz: 2007 euro entry depends on budget cut

Poland's adoption of the euro will depend on the success of the austerity plan, National Bank of Poland Governor Leszek Balcerowicz has said. Balcerowicz reiterated that the realistic date for entry to the eurozone is 2007.

Governor of the National Bank of Poland (NBP) Leszek Balcerowicz said Tuesday [14 October] that the date of Poland's adoption of the euro will hinge on the success of the austerity plan. He added that it could happen in 2007.
