Bernanke hawkish on inflation

In his confirmation hearing before the US Sentate Banking Committee, Ben Bernanke expressed some concerns about the current inflation rate in the US.

While his comments on inflation-targeting in his opening statement have grapped the headlines, his answer to a question on the current state of the economy revealed hawkish sentiments regarding inflation.

"Inflation is currently above the range that would be desirable in the long-run", Bernanke said.
