Jacques de Larosière

Jacques de Larosière became assistant director, later deputy director and head of department, at the Ministry of Finance in France in 1967. In 1974 he became part of the Chef de Cabinet to Valery Giscard d’Estaing, minister of finance, before becoming head of the French Treasury from 1974–78.

During 1978–87, he worked as managing director of the International Monetary Fund, and from 1987–93 he was governor of Banque de France.
